Biotics Cytozyme-AD serves to support adrenal glands.
Every human being has two adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are not, as the name suggests, organs that assist in the functioning of the kidneys. In essence, they really have hardly anything to do with the kidney’s action.
Adrenal glands look like slightly flattened fleshy organs, the size of the last throat of your thumb. The adrenal glands each weigh approximately 5 grams and lie on top of a kidney fat layer. Each adrenal gland consists of two parts, the bark or outer (cortex) and the core or adrenal gland (medulla). The bark comprises 90% of the weight (slightly more than 4 grams) and the marrow approximately 10% (slightly less than 1 gram).
Although small in size, the adrenal glands make three very important hormones: cortisol, aldosterone and androgens. These hormones are also called steroids. The adrenal gland produces cathecholamines. These are substances that play a role in signal transmission in the nervous system (or neurotransmitters) such as (nor) adrenaline and dopamine.
